Privacy, plainly.

Dayplay Games is a brand of Winter Watermelon. These home pages count visits and Play clicks only as described under “Analytics” below, use no advertising tools, and set no cookie unless you pick a player name (see “Player names and leaderboards”).

When you play

Our games live at separate addresses. Relay Tangle stores puzzle progress in your browser; Drift Dispatch stores delivery stamps. Glimmer Haul stores local score records when your browser allows it; Mini Golf stores your rounds and bests, and can put them on a leaderboard if you pick a name. Each game’s play counts are described on its own privacy page, where you can also turn them off and keep playing. Read each game’s linked privacy details before making that choice.

Each Play link carries a fixed label identifying this game home. It contains no personal identifier. The game only includes that label in measurement after you allow it. We do not automatically connect a hub visitor to a player.

Analytics

When product analytics are allowed, we also use Google Analytics, based in the United States, to measure visits and named product actions. It uses first-party browser and session cookies, processes connection information such as IP addresses to provide the service, and receives fixed page routes, approved campaign labels and the referring site hostname. We do not send form contents, uploaded files, email addresses or private workspace addresses. Advertising signals and personalization are disabled. The same regional consent, browser privacy signals and turn-off control apply to both analytics services; turning analytics off stops Google collection and removes its cookies. Google analytics event data is retained for up to 14 months. Anonymous totals are not sent to Google.

Outside the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland, product analytics (PostHog, based in the United States) are on by default on the home page, All games, Leaderboards and this page, to help us see how people find Dayplay Games and which games they open; use the button above to turn them off at any time. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track are honored automatically and always keep analytics off with no prompt, even if you had allowed analytics on this browser before.

In the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland, and wherever we cannot tell, we ask first with a small floating card. Without your permission we keep only an anonymous daily total of page loads in Cloudflare D1 (EU jurisdiction). It carries no browser ID, IP address, user agent or referrer, is kept for up to 90 days and is never sent to PostHog. “Turn off analytics” above stops that too.

If analytics are on, PostHog receives a random browser ID kept in this browser’s local storage, a session ID kept for the open tab, which of those four pages you opened (never its full address, query or your player name), which game’s Play link you followed, a coarse device type, approximate country from the service edge when available, the referring site’s hostname, and campaign labels only from approved RTG campaigns. Event IP is masked and no person profile is created. This ID is separate from each game’s, so a hub visit is not connected to a player. There is no session recording, device fingerprinting, advertising or sale of data. Turning analytics off removes the stored ID; previously delivered events remain. If browser storage is blocked, choices last only on the current page.

Player names and leaderboards (optional)

When leaderboards are open, you can pick a player name here or in a game to put your best scores on daily, weekly and all-time boards. Pick a made-up name, not your real one; no email is needed; a password is optional. Names are 3 to 16 letters, numbers, - or _, and are checked against reserved and rude words. Other players see only your name and your score.

We store the name, the scores you send (which board, the score and when it was set) and a random device code, in Cloudflare D1. Only a SHA-256 hash of the device code is kept. If you add a password, we store a salted PBKDF2 hash, never your password. There is no email password reset. Your browser keeps the code in one strictly necessary first-party cookie for dayplaygames.com, set only after you pick a name and shared by all Dayplay Games games so one name works in each. It is not used for analytics or advertising. If you add an account email, it is stored privately and never shown on leaderboards. It is not verified, does not grant account access, and does not subscribe you to game updates. You can change or remove it at the player page. We do not store your IP address or browser details with your name or scores. When you pick a name in a game, that game also sends the best scores it already holds on your device, once. Scores come from your device, so we only accept values that are possible on that board and cannot promise every score is honest.

At dayplaygames.com/player you can add a password to log in on other devices, sign out, or delete your name and every score attached to it. Daily boards are kept for 14 days and weekly boards for up to three weeks, and a name with no scores 30 days after it was created is released.

Friends and online play (optional)

With a player name you can add friends at your player page and, in games with online play, see which friends are online and challenge them. We store your friends, friend requests, the players you block, your setting for who can challenge you and any report you make about another player (who, which game, a fixed reason and when). Your player page shows alerts (friend requests, accepted requests and friends who beat one of your scores this week) worked out from those lists and the boards; the only thing kept for them is when you last opened your alerts. There is no free text between players. While a game with online play is open, its server keeps your name and whether you are free, playing or looking for a game; closing the game drops it. Online play talks to that game’s server whatever your analytics choice, because a match cannot run without it. A block works both ways and the other player is not told. To limit misuse, hourly counters of games, challenges, searches and reports are keyed by a one-way hash, not your name, and deleted after two days. Unanswered friend requests lapse after 30 days. Deleting your name removes your friends, requests, blocks, setting, alert time and any reports by or about you straight away; a match or connection already open carries on until it closes, and the hourly counters go within two days.

Game updates (optional)

When sign-ups are open, you can give your email to get occasional game updates from Dayplay Games: new games and fresh challenges, only when there’s something worth playing. You’re only added after you open the link we email you and press Confirm. The link expires after 30 minutes.

We store the address, its confirmation state and the minimum bookkeeping needed to send and stop sending mail. To limit misuse, we also keep a one-way hash of the address with recent confirmation-send times for up to 2 days. We never store your IP address or browser details with any of it. A signup that is never confirmed is deleted 7 days after its last confirmation email. After that, we keep its random opt-out token and a one-way hash of the inbox so an old opt-out link can still stop future requests. If we could not verify whether an email was accepted, a hashed hold also prevents an automatic duplicate send. These records contain no plaintext address and remain until resolved or you request deletion.

Emails are delivered by our email provider, Resend, from a dayplaygames.com address. Every email has an unsubscribe link that needs no account. Unsubscribing keeps the address only as a do-not-email record, so we don’t email it again by mistake; write to hello@dayplaygames.com to have it deleted completely. This list is separate from the on-device game progress and analytics choices above.
